Your invitation states the timing for your interview.

How a HireVue interview works

  • A question, then a countdown

The question appears with the prep time counting down. Recording starts when it ends, or when you click to start early.

  • The employer sets the attempts

HireVue shows how many attempts you get before you begin. Plan for one.

  • Five to eight questions

HireVue says most video assessments have five to eight questions and take under 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Its own practice does not count

You can try HireVue's practice questions before the real ones. Nobody else sees them.

From HireVue's candidate FAQ and its on-demand interview guide.

What each bank publishes

From each firm's own careers page, read on 13 October 2026. Your invitation has the timing for your interview.

What the banks tell candidates

  • Say how and why

Bank of America: “We are unable to ask any follow-up questions, so be sure to consider how or why you did or would do something.”

  • Use the time, then stop

Bank of America: “You can expect to use at least 1:45 per response.” Morgan Stanley: “Short, concise answers are best.”

  • Do not read a script

Morgan Stanley: “Reading from a script not only makes your answers sound rehearsed, but the left-to-right movement of your eyes can distract the viewer.”

  • Check light, sound and angle

UBS: do a test run “to make sure everything is working correctly (sound, video, lighting, camera angle).”

Questions about this page

Is this the real HireVue?

No. This practice page is made by Soreno. We are not affiliated with HireVue or with any bank named here. HireVue has its own practice questions that you can open before an on-demand interview begins, and it says opening them does not start your interview. Do those as well on the day.

Is my video recorded or uploaded?

Your browser records it and keeps it in the memory of this tab so you can play it back. It is not uploaded, saved or sent to Soreno or anyone else, and it is gone when you close or reload the page. You do not need an account.

Are these real bank interview questions?

No. The questions are written by Soreno for practice and are not any bank's questions. They follow what the banks say they ask: Bank of America describes its questions as primarily behavioral and open ended, and JPMorgan Chase says a recorded interview may evaluate verbal presentation and technical abilities.

Does this page score my answer?

No. You watch your own answer and use the checklist. For a score and written feedback, Soreno's AI interviewer asks the questions out loud, follows up on what you say and scores each answer.
