Accenture internship: Summer Analyst and MBA programs

Accenture's US internships are the Summer Analyst Program for third-year undergraduates and the MBA Internship Program for first-year MBA students, each about 10 weeks from June. Read October 31, 2026: the Advisory Summer Analyst posting pays $27 to $35 an hour and was expected to stay up until November 6, 2026, and the MBA Strategy Summer Consultant posting asks for applications by November 29, 2026. Accenture interviews by phone, video or in person, and the number of interviews depends on the role. To rehearse Accenture's case and behavioral questions out loud, Soreno, an AI voice interview practice app for consulting, investment banking and other finance candidates, runs a free Accenture-style case with no sign-up and complete mock interviews that ask follow-up questions and score every answer.

The five Advisory Summer Analyst tracksFrom the 2027 posting

One posting covers five tracks, each with its own skills list. These summaries are in our words, close to the posting's.

  1. Advisory Consulting

    Technology and business transformation

Asks for problem solving, data tools such as Excel, Power BI and Tableau, and comfort making sound judgments with incomplete information.

    Accenture: Advisory Summer Analyst NAELFY27
  2. Industry X

    How products are made

Product design, manufacturing, sourcing and service. Familiarity with engineering tools such as CAD, simulation software, ERP systems or digital twins helps.

  3. Song

    Customer experience

Marketing, customer service, commerce and digital experience, with human-centered design and PowerPoint storytelling.

  4. Sourcing & Procurement

    Costs and supply chains

Efficiencies, lower costs and supply chain resilience, with messy data turned into charts and recommendations for executives.

  5. Strategy

    C-suite problems

Defining and solving client challenges and analyzing how a client's business works today and how it could work better.

Summer pay at 40 hours a week, our estimateOur estimate

Accenture posts pay where local law requires it. We multiplied the Summer Analyst's hourly range by 40 hours a week (our assumption, the posting doesn't state hours) and took 10 of 52 weeks of the MBA intern's annual range. Rounded, before tax.

  1. Summer Analyst

    About $10,800 to $14,000

$27 to $35 an hour, the same in all 14 states the posting lists pay for. Some offices, such as Atlanta, Houston and Philadelphia, are in states not on that list.

    Accenture: Advisory Summer Analyst NAELFY27
  2. MBA intern, New York

    From about $12,800

The New York range starts at $66,300 a year.

Accenture: Strategy Summer Consultant MBA NAELFY27
  3. MBA intern, Chicago

    About $11,400 to $36,200

$59,100 to $188,100 a year in Illinois, which covers Chicago. The posting lists 14 states, but its only offices are New York City and Chicago. The range is wide, so it tells you little about a single offer.

A sample answer: why Accenture's internship?Ours, about 60 seconds

Written for a third-year industrial engineering student applying to the Industry X track. It uses only what Accenture's posting says, so put your own story in.

  1. Open

    Lead with the project

"Last year I helped a campus machine shop cut setup time on its CNC line by about a fifth, and the part I enjoyed most was explaining the change to the technicians, not the analysis."

  2. Why the track

    Point at the posting

"That's why I'm applying to Industry X. The posting talks about changing how products are designed, made and serviced, and asks people to explain technical ideas to people who aren't engineers. That's the job I liked."

  3. Why Accenture

    One concrete reason

"I also want a summer that ends with something I own. The internship finishes with a deliverable and a presentation, and I want to be judged on that."

  4. Close

    What you'll leave with

"By August I'd like to have shipped one piece of a client project and know whether I want to do this full time."

  5. Why it works

    Track, proof, finish

Our view: it names the track, backs it with one result and uses one fact from the posting. Accenture says it wants to hear from you, not a script, so learn the points, not the words.

Who can apply

From Accenture's student page and the two 2027 postings, each named on its line.

  • Summer Analyst: third-year undergrads

Accenture's student page asks for third-year students in a four-year program in the US or Canada. The 2027 Advisory posting asks for a bachelor's or master's in any discipline, graduating December 2027 to August 2028, with prior internship or work experience.

  • MBA: graduating December 2027 to August 2028

The Strategy Summer Consultant posting asks for a current MBA in that window and prefers 3 to 5 years of work before the MBA, plus PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI and Tableau.

  • No visa sponsorship

Both postings require US work authorization that does not now or in the future need visa sponsorship.

  • In person

Both postings say the role is in person, at Accenture offices, client sites or delivery centers.

How Accenture hires interns

Accenture's hiring Q&A describes the same steps for every role. It doesn't publish an intern-only process on the pages we read.

Show the steps
  1. Apply

    One application per role

Recruiters may suggest other roles that fit you, but each needs its own application. Accenture runs a referral program, so ask people you know there.

    From Accenture: hiring process Q&A.

  2. Some roles

    An online activity

Accenture may ask you to complete an online activity on your technical skills, strengths or decision making. For coding roles, its Q&A describes a HackerRank assessment of about 30 to 90 minutes, usually due within 72 hours, with a 90-day wait before you can retake it. Its AI page says using AI to complete assessments is not permitted unless it says otherwise.

From Accenture: hiring process Q&A and Accenture: using AI in your job search.

  3. Interviews

    Phone, video or in person

The number of interviews depends on the role. Accenture's tips page has posts on behavioral, case-study and video interviews and its Case Interview Workbook.

  4. Offer

    Timing depends on the team

Accenture says turnaround depends on the role and area of business, and your recruiter will update you. A real offer comes from an accenture.com address after formal interviews.

10 questions to practice for an Accenture internship

Our wording, matched to the Advisory tracks and the skills the 2027 postings list. They don't repeat our Accenture interview questions page, so use both.

Case prompts by track5 questions

One for each Advisory track. Say the structure before any math.

  1. A streaming service's monthly churn has doubled in a year. How would you find out why?

    Aim for

Song: split who is leaving and when, then test product, price and competition against that split. Practice it, see a model answer

  2. A carmaker is deciding whether to keep making a key component in-house or buy it from a supplier. How would you approach it?

    Aim for

Industry X: full cost on both sides, then supply risk, quality and the know-how the carmaker would give up. Practice it, see a model answer

  3. A clothing retailer needs to cut costs by 10% without hurting sales. Where would you look?

    Aim for

Sourcing & Procurement: size the cost base, then the purchased goods and services customers never see. Practice it, see a model answer

  4. A software company is launching a new analytics add-on for its existing customers. How would you set the price?

    Aim for

Strategy: the value to the customer, what alternatives cost and what it does to the core product's sales. Practice it, see a model answer

  5. A leading shampoo brand has lost five points of market share in two years. What would you look at?

    Aim for

Advisory Consulting: where the share went, by channel and customer, before naming a cause. Practice it, see a model answer

Questions about you5 questions

Picked for skills the postings name: ambiguity, collaboration, initiative and communication.

  1. Why Accenture's internship, and why this track?

    Aim for

One fact from the posting, one experience of yours that explains it. Practice it, see a model answer

  2. Tell me about a time you had to make a decision without all the information you wanted.

    Aim for

What you knew, what you assumed out loud, the call you made and how you checked it. Practice it, see a model answer

  3. Tell me about a time you led a group to a result that mattered.

    Aim for

How you got people to commit, what you did when one fell behind and the result in one number. Practice it, see a model answer

  4. Tell me about a time you changed someone's mind.

    Aim for

Their view put fairly, the evidence you brought and how you shaped it for them. Practice it, see a model answer

  5. Tell me about a time you took the initiative without being asked.

    Aim for

What you noticed that others missed, the risk you took and what changed. Practice it, see a model answer

Mistakes, prep and FAQ

Where Accenture intern applicants go wrong
  • Waiting for a November 29 undergrad deadline

November 29 is the MBA date. The undergrad Advisory posting was expected to stay up only until November 6, 2026.

  • Picking a track you can't explain

Each track has its own skills list. Choose the one your coursework and projects already point to, and say why.

  • Leaning on AI in the room

Accenture says using AI to answer interview questions or complete assessments is not permitted unless it says otherwise, and that it uses proctoring and AI detection.

  • Missing the graduation window

Both 2027 postings ask for graduation between December 2027 and August 2028. Check it before you spend time on the application.

A prep plan for Accenture's interviews

Our suggestion, for the weeks between applying and your first call.

  1. Before you apply

Pick a track, write two sentences

Read the five track descriptions and write why you fit one, with an example from a class or job.

  2. Week 1

    Read Accenture's own prep

Its tips page links its case-study interview post and its Case Interview Workbook. Our guide summarizes both.

  3. Week 2

    Cases out loud

Two or three cases from the track list above, said aloud with someone stopping you, a friend or an AI interviewer.

Questions people ask

When is the Accenture internship deadline?

As read October 31, 2026: the undergraduate Advisory Summer Analyst posting is expected to stay up until November 6, 2026, and the MBA Strategy Summer Consultant posting asks for applications by November 29, 2026. The first and second-year programs were open with no closing date on the page.

How much do Accenture interns make?

The 2027 Advisory Summer Analyst posting lists $27 to $35 an hour. By our math, 40 hours a week for 10 weeks is $10,800 to $14,000 before tax. The MBA posting gives an annual range of $59,100 to $188,100 depending on the state.

How long is an Accenture internship?

Accenture's student page says 10 weeks for both the Summer Analyst and MBA programs, and both 2027 postings say about 10 weeks from June. Its hiring Q&A describes the Summer Analyst Program as 10 to 12 weeks, so check your offer.

Does Accenture sponsor visas for interns?

Not on the two 2027 internship postings we read. Both require US work authorization that does not now or in the future need visa sponsorship.

What is the Accenture intern interview process?

Accenture says interviews are by phone, video or in person, and the number depends on the role. Some roles add an online activity. It doesn't publish an intern-specific round count on the pages we read.

Can I use AI while applying to Accenture?

For research, resume drafting and interview practice, yes. Accenture says AI is not permitted for completing assessments unless stated otherwise, or for generating answers during interviews, and that it uses proctoring and AI detection.

What does an Accenture Summer Analyst do?

The 2027 posting describes a summer project solving a real business problem, ending with an internship deliverable and a presentation, in-person work with your team and clients, and a mentor or buddy through the summer.

Does Accenture have a GPA cutoff for interns?

Neither 2027 posting we read lists a GPA minimum. The Advisory Summer Analyst posting asks for prior internship or work experience and prefers internships in consulting, technology or professional services, leadership in student groups and project work on real business problems.

Does an Accenture internship lead to a full-time offer?

Accenture's student page says the Summer Analyst Program mirrors its full-time, entry-level Analyst role and the MBA program mirrors a full-time Strategy Consultant. The pages we read give no return-offer rate.
